{"id":39,"date":"2015-04-13T20:46:10","date_gmt":"2015-04-14T03:46:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/dwayneyamato.com\/mryamato\/?page_id=39"},"modified":"2020-08-10T15:20:07","modified_gmt":"2020-08-10T22:20:07","slug":"course-syllabi-tech","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/dwayneyamato.com\/mryamato\/?page_id=39","title":{"rendered":"Course Syllabi (Tech)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>COURSE SYLLABUS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>COURSE TITLE<\/strong>: TECHNOLOGY EDUCATION for the 21st CENTURY<\/p>\n<p><strong>TEACHER<\/strong>: Dwayne Yamato<\/p>\n<p><strong>CONTACT INFO<\/strong>: dwayne.yamato@pusd.org<\/p>\n<p><strong>TEXTBOOK<\/strong>: None<\/p>\n<p><strong>SOFTWARE<\/strong>: Microsoft Office 2010, Web 2.0 Tools<\/p>\n<p><strong>COURSE DESCRIPTION<\/strong>: Technology Education for the 21st Century is a Pomona Unified School District graduation requirement.\u00a0 Tech Ed 21 is a one-semester course designed to prepare students for high school by allowing them to use technology to complete their course work.<\/p>\n<p><strong>COURSE OBJECTIVES<\/strong>: The students will:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Touch type at 30 wpm<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrate proficiency in using Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Publisher, and PowerPoint<\/li>\n<li>Use the Internet for research<\/li>\n<li>Use various Web 2.0 tools<\/li>\n<li>Use Google apps for collaborative and individual projects<\/li>\n<li>Define technology vocabulary<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>GRADING SCALE<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A 90-100%<\/li>\n<li>B 80-89%<\/li>\n<li>C 70-79%<\/li>\n<li>D 60-69%<\/li>\n<li>F 0-59%<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>ATTENDANCE\/TARDY POLICY<\/strong>: Attendance\/tardy policy as established by Ganesha High School<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>DISTANCE LEARNING<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We will be starting the year using distance learning.\u00a0 You will notice that you are part of two different cohorts, A or B.\u00a0 These cohort groups will be used when we transition into a hybrid model.\u00a0 In the meantime, while we are still doing distance learning, both cohorts will meet (via Zoom) every day during our scheduled period.\u00a0 It is important that you attend every day because this will be the only time I will be giving instruction to new lessons and topics.\u00a0 If you miss a day you will miss the presentation.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>CLASSROOM\/ZOOM\u00a0 NORMS, PROCEDURES, RULES, AND CONSEQUENCE<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Rules\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In order to maintain a productive, positive, friendly, and respectful learning environment, the following rules have been established and will be enforced while online:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Respect yourself and others with your words and actions<\/li>\n<li>Listen when others are speaking<\/li>\n<li>Class time is for class activities only<\/li>\n<li>Be prompt and prepared for class<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Norms<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In order to create an equitable and fair learning environment for all, the student generated the following norms for the classroom:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Attend online class as if you were attending school<\/li>\n<li>Ask questions<\/li>\n<li>Be prepared and participate<\/li>\n<li>Use appropriate academic language<\/li>\n<li>Be positive<\/li>\n<li>Be responsible<\/li>\n<li>Assist your classmates<\/li>\n<li>Show your face while on Zoom and not just your avatar picture<\/li>\n<li>Be dressed and in a good learning environment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>CLASSROOM RULES<\/strong>:<br \/>\nStudents will:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Eat and drink outside the classroom<\/li>\n<li>Have all electronic devices off while in class<\/li>\n<li>Be prepared and on time for class<\/li>\n<li>Don\u2019t wear hats<\/li>\n<li>Respect people and classroom property<\/li>\n<li>Use appropriate language<\/li>\n<li>Wait for teacher dismissal<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>DISCIPLINE POLICY<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>First Offense-Warning and parent contact<\/li>\n<li>Second Offense-Parent contact\/detention<\/li>\n<li>Third Offense-Referral<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Additional Comments<\/strong>:<br \/>\nThis syllabus is subject to change at the discretion of the teacher\/administration.
